As the cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in our province, BC Health Authorities have implemented various new policies and protocols for businesses to follow. At this time, our current COVID-19 protocols continue to satisfy the guidelines set out by BC Health Authorities, WorkSafeBC and Fraser Health.
As such, our studio will remain OPEN. We will continue to monitor the changing pandemic regulations and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the safety of both our staff and our students.
Please bring the COVID19 Form in the first day of classes and you have to fill out another form in January after Christmas Break and in March after Spring Break Student Consent Form
I have added additional screening policies to the studios “COVID-19 Safety Plan” that I will outline below.
- We have created generous safety margins for each student. These 6ft x 6ft marked squares ensure that each student is following the required physical distance as outlined by WorkSafeBC.
- We have removed the water fountain area. Please be advised that at this time water bottle will NOT be permitted inside the studio. Please leave all water bottles and containers in your cars.
- Students are expected to follow the marked walkways, entering through the entrance lane and exiting via the exit lane. Please ensure that your kids are ready to follow the teacher’s instructions.
- All teachers and students are required to wear non-medical masks while inside the studio. There are no exceptions.
- In order to control the flow of students between classes, classes will be broken down as followed: Each class will consist of 50 minutes of teaching time, followed by 10 minutes of clean up and exit time.
- Jacket hooks have been removed. Please make sure that your child arrives wearing their art shirt. Please limit the number of jackets inside the studio by leaving them in your cars. Students are expected to place their shoes in the cubbies upon arrival, please make sure that your children are wearing socks. At this time backpacks are not permitted inside the studio.
- The studio door will be propped open. Please do not close it. In order to minimize exposure at this time, bathrooms will be limited to the use of emergencies only. (Please make sure that your children use the restroom at home prior to attending their class.)
- Students will be asked to wait on the markers OUTSIDE the building. A teacher will invite you in once the studio is ready. Students will only be allowed to come inside the studio, if they are waiting in the appropriate marked spots.
- Upon arrival, each student will be asked the following “COVID-19 Screening Questions”, we will then use an infrared thermometer to check their body temperature.
- Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath?
- Have you had any fevers?
- Have you been coughing or sneezing?
- Are you experiencing any other flu or cold like symptom?
- Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms:
Please note, that if a student answers “yes” to any of the following questions they will be required to go home.
- There are hand sanitizer stations located at each art station. Students are EXPECTED to use hand sanitizer upon entering the studio.
- The studio will be cleaned and sanitized with a hospital grade, government approved disinfectant both at the beginning and end of the day. Every piece of equipment used during a class will be sanitized prior to the beginning of the next class.
- The reception area has been equipped with a plexiglass barrier. Parents will ONLY be allowed to enter the studio by appointment. At this time the parental waiting area will remain CLOSED and only staff and students will be allowed inside the studio.
- Any student or teacher who is experiencing cold or flu symptoms, especially fevers, coughs and difficulty breathing will not be allowed inside the studio. We encourage people who might have symptoms to self-isolation for 14 days.
- Sanitizing lowers the number of germs on surfaces or objects to a safe level, as judged by public health standards or requirements. This process works by either cleaning or disinfecting surfaces or objects to lower the risk of spreading infection, in our art studio we have a professional sanitizing with VITAL OXIDE.
Moreover, please ensure to arrive ONLY at the time of your class, no earlier. As mentioned above, students are expected to wait in the designated areas and will only be permitted to enter if they are in the correct spots, in the hallway there are some orange cones where you can wait if outside is snowing, heavy rain or very cold.
As the flu and cold season is also among us, please make sure that your child stays home if they are experiencing ANY flu or cold symptoms. Please let me know before the class and I will happily make it up when they are feeling better.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
